OVERVIEW

This course presents the scientific and methodological approaches underlying various individual sports disciplines.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to deepen the teaching methodologies, through technical and practical activities, in the light of theoretical knowledge relating to the science and technique of individual sports.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of this course is to provide students with technical and scientific knowledge of the methodologies employed within the governing bodies and professional practice of different individual sports. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the sport-specific demands and evidence-based training approaches adopted across various individual sport disciplines.

Students will be required to apply, in practical field settings, the theoretical knowledge acquired during the lectures of the module “Advanced Science and Techniques of individual Sports.”

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Evaluate the performance demands and specific characteristics of different individual sports disciplines.
  • Design and develop appropriate training and physical conditioning programs according to the requirements of each individual sport.
  • Critically describe and analyze the methodologies and training approaches adopted in the various individual sports covered during the course.

PREREQUISITES

Have successfully followed the lectures of the relevant teaching module “Advanced Science and Technique of Individual Sports”.

TEACHING METHODS

The course includes practical technical lessons (ATP) held in the gym.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The ATP does not provide a graded exam.

A minimum of 70% attendance is required to take the theory module exam.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

No formal examination is scheduled for this course.

Student achievement will be assessed through active participation during practical and theoretical teaching activities. Competencies will be evaluated on the basis of engagement, attendance, and the ability to apply the concepts and methodologies presented throughout the course.
