OVERVIEW

This teaching unit (articulated into two modules) aims to provide students with the fundamental principles of circuit theory and linear dynamical systems, enabling them to analyse the behaviour of classes of devices that are relevant to electronic engineering. In particular, the teaching unit introduces the tools required to characterise the fundamental properties of circuits and dynamical systems (e.g., stability and time- and frequency-domain response), allowing students to predict their behaviour during the design process or to understand their operation on the basis of experimental observations.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This teaching unit provides the fundamentals of linear circuits and systems, to analyze classes of relevant devices in Electronic Engineering. In particular, the main tools needed to characterize the basic properties (e.g., stability, behavior in time and frequency) of linear circuits and systems are introduced, which allow one to foresee their behavior during the design phase or to understand their functioning based on experimental measurements.

PREREQUISITES

Please refer to the preprequisites for the individual modules.

TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Please refer to the exam description for the individual modules.

The final grade will be calculated as the average of the grades obtained in the two modules, using standard rounding rules.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Please refer to the assessment methods for the individual modules.
