The organisation into two modules reflects the two main threads of the programme: on one hand, the fundamentals of analogue electronics, from semiconductor devices to circuit design; on the other, digital computer architectures, from modern microprocessors to hardware description in VHDL. The two threads, though distinct, work together to build a unified view of the electronic system, understood as the integration of components, circuits and programmable architectures. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES This teaching unit equips students with the methods and tools necessary for the analysis and design of both analog and digital electronic systems. The analog electronics module focuses on developing foundational knowledge of electronic devices and the analytical skills required to understand and evaluate basic electronic circuits. The digital electronics module provides students with the competencies needed to comprehend the architecture and operation of microprocessor-based electronic systems. PREREQUISITES It is advisable to have a basic understanding of digital systems design (from Boolean algebra to combinational and sequential circuits) TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD PAOLO GASTALDO Ricevimento: On request email: paolo.gastaldo@unige.it RODOLFO ZUNINO Ricevimento: By appointment after direct contact with the Teacher rodolfo.zunino@unige.it EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION Each module has its own independent examination, described in the respective module sheet. The teaching unit is considered passed when both examinations have been successfully completed. ASSESSMENT METHODS See the individual module sheets for details.
