CODE 121883 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 10 cfu anno 1 ARCHITETTURA 11913 (LM-4 R) - GENOVA LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA MODULES Questo insegnamento è composto da: SYSTEM INTEGRATION IN ARCHITECTURE TECHNIQUES AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE OVERVIEW The course provides conceptual, theoretical and technical tools to enable students to approach architectural design with a clear understanding during the planning, conceptualisation and implementation phases, using an integrated approach that focuses in particular on the relationship between architecture and building services. The workshop explores themes relating to contemporary building culture, ranging from spatial and morphological conception through to methods of construction. Through practical exercises, it addresses the technical issues necessary for the informed development of an architectural project at various scales and within different contexts, linking the role of construction and execution choices within the creative process. The examination of various construction solutions is set against the backdrop of contemporary requirements in terms of resource conservation, energy efficiency and effectiveness, and long-term durability, as demanded by the current socio-cultural and environmental context. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course consists of the following modules: Techniques and Technologies for Sustainable Architecture and Integration of Building Services into Architecture. TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD GIOVANNA FRANCO Ricevimento: Giovanna Franco will receive sudents on appointment to be fixed sending email to: giovanna.franco@unige.it ADRIANO MAGLIOCCO Ricevimento: outside class time appointment by writing at: adriano.magliocco@unige.it STEFANO LAZZARI Ricevimento: Student office hours typically take place on Wednesday mornings, from 11:00 to 12:00, or at the end of individual lessons. Students must schedule appointments for office hours via email (stefano.lazzari@unige.it). Appointments can also be arranged for different times/days and conducted through the Microsoft Teams platform. EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The verification of takes place by means of a final oral examination during which the students will describe their exercise carried out during the semester and answer questions on the programme, following the explanation given through Aulaweb. ASSESSMENT METHODS The oral examination allows to verify the ability to analyse, also from a technical and executive point of view, an architectural project, integrated with the plant engineering aspect, from a critical perspective and using an appropriate technical vocabulary; the ability to recognise hierarchically the phases of the construction process and the different construction methods; the ability to identify the impact of different construction solutions on the environment and their effectiveness with respect to the users' needs and required performances.
