How it works

If you are not a UniGe graduate, you will need to upload the following documentation related to your study career to UniGe's Online Service portal:

  • degree certificate including the list of exams taken (transcript of records)
  • .
  • short description of the university where the three-year degree was obtained
  • letter of motivation
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • letters of recommendation (not required)
  • .
  • for foreign applicants only: Certification of Italian language proficiency of B2 level. In the absence of such certification you will have to face an individual interview to assess your Italian language skills
  • .

On the basis of the documentation submitted by the candidates, the committee will assess the following:

  • adequate knowledge of Italian language (admitted/not admitted)
  • .
  • academic potential (grade point average, class rank, GPA, etc.: Max. 40 evaluation)
  • relevance of I-level degree (assessment Max. 10)
  • quality of the university that delivered the Level I degree (rating Max. 20)
  • letter of motivation (evaluation Max. 5)
  • other aspects of the Curriculum Vitae (other academic qualifications, work experience, professional qualifications, etc.) (rating Max. 5)
  • Reference letters (not compulsory, but considered useful for foreign candidates) (evaluation Max. 3)

You will pass the test if your score is above the threshold set by Educational Regulations (appendix to the general part - page 9)

The committee will also take into account your record in the bachelor's degree program. The outcome of the review can be "passed," or "failed."

Where and when

At the pre-registration stage, the student will be asked for a date for verification, this is not an exam, but an indicative date for the office to verify documentation. Even in the case of exemption from individual preparation verification, this date may be required by the system.
