Academic calendar Athenaeum General Calendar The academic year begins on November 1 and ends on October 31 of the following year. It is divided into two semesters, occupying, in principle the following time intervals: first semester, from October to January second semester, from March to June Regionally established suspension days for 2023/2024 are: December 27, 28, 29, 30, 2023 January 2, 3, 4, 5, 2024 March 28, 29, 30, 2024 April 2, 2024 April 29, 30, 2024 To these are added the nationally established days of suspension of teaching and educational activities, which, in addition to Sundays, are: November 1 2023, All Saints' Day Dec. 8 2023, Immaculate Conception Dec. 252023, Holy Christmas December 26 2023, Boxing Day January 1 2024, New Year's Eve January 6 2024, Epiphany Monday after Easter (April 1 2024) April 252024, anniversary of the Liberation May 1 2024, Labor Day June 2 2024, National Republic Day June 2024 patron saint's day According to Article 25 of Student Regulations, effective August 5, 2022: "The annual academic calendar shall be prepared in observance of national vacations and school vacation days as determined annually in the regional school calendar by ordinance of the Ligurian Regional Government."
