The course in brief

Presentation

The two-year course, with programmed numbers, aims to train health professionals with advanced care, management, training and research skills in the rehabilitation field. It is aimed exclusively at graduates of the Health Professions of Rehabilitation (L/SNT02) - podiatrist, physical therapist, speech therapist, orthoptist, vocational educator, psychiatric educator, occupational therapist, neuropsychomotricist. All students do an internship training.

Learning by doing

Experienced lecturers offer simulations using the role play method for managing work and/or study groups and interpersonal relationships in the professional field; they stimulate learning through discovery (discovery learning) and using the case study method, facilitate the design of scientific research work. During the internship, the student deepens strategies for integration into work groups by developing skills in management, training and research.

Professional outlets

The master's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences of the Health Professions can pursue a career in the management structures of NHS companies and similar private facilities, in institutions of hospitalization and care of a scientific nature, in the technical and rehabilitation departments and services of hospital and non-hospital facilities, in training facilities and in university and nonuniversity research centers, in the sphere of tutoring and coordination activities in basic, complementary and permanent training and in free professional activities or pursue studies with a doctorate.

Contents

The course includes teachings to learn about:

  • the principles of economic analysis and public business economics
  • the business organization of the NHS
  • the management of human, information, and technological resources in health care
  • management control and cost variances
  • staff management strategies with reference to the specific professional figures pertaining to the course
  • the regulations for worker health protection
  • the proper techniques of individual and group communication
  • the management of work groups by promoting integration
  • the critical reading of scientific articles and verification of the results of research activities
  • the acquisition of the method for independent study and lifelong learning.

The training course provides conceptual and methodological models of the 4 areas of competence of the master's degree graduate:

  • Research: transferable statistical and epidemiological methods in research. Research methodology for evidence-based medicine (EBM) and evidence-based nursing (EBN) health care practice; analysis of qualitative/quantitative research studies with inferences and implications in practice
  • management: health planning methods with insights into ethics, administrative and labor law; management of rehabilitation services and human resources
  • training: pedagogical and adult learning models, tutorial methodologies; design of training systems
  • disciplinary: in-depth study of clinical advances in neuroscience and rehabilitation.
