Today there is evidence of the expansion of electric drives in sectors historically characterized by other types of motors, in particular in land and naval transport. Industrial, robotic and military applications require continuous updates of the performance of the drive and its control, and the electric drive, thanks in particular to the impressive research activity in power electronics and related control and in electrochemical accumulation, meets the needs of various technological sectors. This teaching presents both the applications now consolidated at an industrial level and the most recent applications of techniques and components capable of maximizing, both from the point of view of the torques supplied and the dynamics supplied, the performance of electric drives.
The course aims to provide the student with the knowledge and operating procedures necessary to define the specifications of high-performance electric drives and to carry out the preliminary design of drives for mechatronic systems
Lectures and technical visits to industries of the sector or large users.
