OVERVIEW

Institutions of private law deal with the foundations of the legal framework applicable to relationships between private subjects. It is a preparatory course for all courses in the private area of the Degree Course SLIPA. It provides essential knowledge to build the skills of all our students, both those who aspire to work in private companies or in the Public Administration and those who intend to prepare to enter the profession of labour law contracts consultan

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course concerns basic notions of private law – such as sources, rights, actions, subjects - and also general rules on property, obligations, contracts and torts. It aims to bring the students to learn basic legal language and reasoning and some concepts, teaching them a knowledge to deepen in progress, in more advanced courses.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main purpose of teaching private law institutions is to enable students to acquire basic knowledge, study methods and interpretative tools in order to independently identify, understand and apply the regulatory provisions governing the conduct of legal relationships between private entities.

 

 

PREREQUISITES

None, it is a first year University's Course. Teaching language is Italian, so a good language knowledge is required.

TEACHING METHODS

Lectures + in-depth materials and schemes provided on aula web.

Only attending students may do an intermediate test with open-ended questions to evaluate their learning.

The positive assessment obtained in the intermediate test averaged with that achieved in the final oral interview on the remaining parts of the program. The two evaluations contribute to the student's final grade.

The negative outcome of the test will not be registered. Who fails the intermediate test will have to take the oral exam on the entire program for attending students.

Non-attending students are also required to read some of the Supreme Court judgments that will be shown on aula web at the beginning of the course.

For non attending students: V. Roppo, Diritto privato, Linee essenziali, Torino, Giappichelli, last ed., pp. 626; 
For attending students: during the lectures the Professor will indicate the parts of the book mentioned above, that attending students are not required to study, so as to reduce their workload at most to pp. 500 in total.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam is oral.

Attending students can sit a written test on part of the program, structured with open-ended questions, and so decrease the program on which they will be orally examined.
