The Business English module is intended to provide a B2 level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) with a special regard to the language of economics and business and related communication skills.
The students will acquire specific vocabulary used in the economic and business sectors. In order to be able to participate in conversations in the fields of reference the students will also learn characteristics of international business communication.
Reaching a B2 level of English and ability to communicate in business settings in English.
Having acquired a B1 level of English.
The module will be held in the first semester and will take place in person. Classes will be students - centered with a focus on autonomous learning, collaboration and scaffolding, and communicative group work.
During the semester students will work mainly using material from the Internet such as TED Talks, News Sites, and vocabulary input.
Students can prepare by using Business English | British Council and by reading business sections in English language news sites.

Students will be evaluated through presentations and communication tasks in which they have to negotiate a business meeting. They further have to pass a business specific vocabulary exam.
Three types of summative assessment - vocabulary exam, presentation, communication activity.
