This course aims to illustrate the different types of drug formulations employed for veterinary application, paying particular attention to the formulations specifically developed for veterinary use (like boluses, drenches, solutions for intubing and spot-on, and so on). The student will gain knowledge about the technological solutions adopted to meet the therapeutical needs of the different species, considering the issues related to the dosage, the administration route, the compliance, etc.
The aim of these lessons is: to present the definition of veterinary medicinal product and the regulatory framework related to these products; to describe some drug formulations specifically developed for veterinary use, focusing on the technological aspects. At the end of the course, the student should possess the fundamental knowledge of the regulatory key points ruling veterinary medicinal products and the formulation needs related to the development of veterinary drug formulations.
The course includes 8 hours of frontal lesson, with the support of the didactic material provided to the students through Aulaweb. Lessons attendance is highly recommended.

The exam involves passing a written test composed of multiple-choice questions.
The exam evaluates the knowledge of the definition of veterinary medicinal product and of the related regulatory aspects, and the knowledge of the technological solutions adopted in the formulation of medicinal products specifically developed for veterinary use.
