TEACHING METHODS The time-schedule of the course is five hours per week (first semester only) SYLLABUS/CONTENT Foundations Mono and multidimensional heat conduction. Transient conduction: scale analysis, semi-infinite body model. Forced convection: boundary layer equations, dimensionless groups. External and internal forced convection: theory and semi-empirical correlations. Natural and two-phase convective heat transfer Radiative properties of material and radiation heat transfer among black and gray surfaces. Advanced topics / applications Experimental heat transfer.
