At the end of the course, the student will be able to: - Understand the structure of a journalistic hypertext that addresses issues related to current scientific trends; - Identify media language devices, with particular reference to journalistic language - Analyse the dynamics of journalistic texts through the methodological tools of French discourse analysis (AD)

The course presents an overview of discourse analysis tools in the framework of media communication. In particular, the course will focus on journalistic communication in French, with reference to the dissemination of specialist scientific knowledge. The difference between information and vulgarisation will be further explored through the analysis of corpora.

The exam will consist of an oral examination on analytical textual skills acquired during the course. The exam will focus on the skills acquired in the analysis of media discourse, through the examination of authentic texts. Oral expression skills in French will be tested as well. Rating out of thirty.
