This module includes an introduction to Swedish syntax and a practical Swedish language course at the A2/B1 level.
This module aims to introduce students to the scientific study of the Swedish language, in particular Swedish syntax, and to bring students to the A2/B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The linguistics module is made up of weekly lectures (3 hours a week over 10 weeks in the second semester).
The practical module is made up of weekly classes (4 hours a week over 20 weeks, i.e. 10 weeks per semester).
Swedish Language II is divided into two parts: a one-semester linguistics module ("modulo teorico"), which is held in the second semester, and a two-semester practical module ("modulo pratico" or "esercitazioni" o "lettorato").
Each component ("modulo pratico" and "modulo teorico") is assessed separately. The practical module is assessed at the end of the second semester through a written exam paper (grammar, vocabulary and writing) and an oral exam. The linguistics module is assessed through an oral exam at the end of the second semester.
The linguistics module ("modulo teorico") is an introduction to Swedish syntax and word-order. The practical language module aims to bring students to the A2/B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The final mark is calculated as follows:
33% (of the overall mark) is the written practical part;
33% (of the overall mark) is the oral practical part;
33% (of the overall mark) is the linguistics part.
Lecture notes for the theoretical module distributed during the lessons and available in AulaWeb in the second semester. The second chapter of Backman's novel will be later included in the lecture notes. More information will be provided during the lessons. The bibliography of the practical module will be announced during the lessons.

The linguistics module is assessed through an oral exam. There are two sittings in each of the three exam sessions. The practical module is assessed through a written paper (one sitting in each of the three exam sessions) and an oral exam (two sittings).
The linguistics module is assessed through an oral exam. Students are required to analyse phrases and sentences from Ahlin's text. The practical part is assessed through a written exam paper (grammar, vocabulary and writing) and an oral exam.
Attendance is not obligatory but strongly recommended.
