The aim of this teaching is to make the student approach to the very rich and articulated literary heritage of Poland, from the 15th until the 19th century.
At the end of the course, the student should be able to find an orientation in the geographical and cultural space of Poland and to individuate some of its more important peculiarities on a European contest
Frontal lessons
The course will consist in an introduction to the history of the Slavic countries and will focus on Polish culture since Middle Age until the Romanticism, with a particular analysis of Sarmatism and Messianism, among the most characteristic cultural expressions of this country
For everybody: “Storia della letteratura polacca” a cura di Luigi Marinelli (Einaudi 2004) e “Polonia. Il paese che rinasce” di Jerzy Lukowski e Hubert Zawadzki (Beit 2009). Del primo si leggerà dall’inizio fino a p. 229 e in particolare i capitoli II (Rinascimento) e VI (Adam Mickiewicz) e del secondo fino a p. 142. Si leggerà inoltre: Marcello Garzaniti, “Gli slavi”, cap. Il mondo slavo contemporaneo, fino a p. 35 Luigi Marinelli, “Chi sono i polacchi” e Lucyna Gebert "La lingua polacca" (articoli scaricabili dalla sezione “documenti pubblici”) e le fotocopie relative ai seguenti testi/autori: Bogurodzica Kochanowski Sep Szarzynski Krasicki Mickiewicz.
POLISH STUDENTS MAY ASK FOR A POLISH BIBLIOGRAPHY
The student will be asked to interpret and analyze one or more of the texts studied during the course.
