It uses authentic material taken from a personality theory course at an American university AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims at giving students familarity with specialised lexis so as to help them understand research articles in English with greater confidence. LEARNING OUTCOMES (FURTHER INFO) Lingua e Traduzione Inglese is a course designed to help students become acquainted and familiar with academic English of a psychological nature. Students should have at least a B1 level of English to be able to tackle the articles to be studied. TEACHING METHODS Lessons in small groups with access and reference to online material SYLLABUS/CONTENT We will be using e texts by Professor George Boeree which address psychoanalytic, behavioristic, and humanistic schools of thought. There will be 2 hour laboratory sessions for all the students in small groups based on these texts with additional material to help reinforce fundamental grammar issues.
