The course aims to provide the necessary tools and knowledge to the analysis of mechanical phenomena and fundamental to the identification of components and mechanical systems.
Lessons and exercises.
1. General issues of mechanics of machines.
2. Fundamentals on analytical methods of kinematics and kineto-statics. Efficiency. Dynamic equivalence.
3. Forces acting on and between members of machines (sliding and rolling friction, lubrication and lubricants, ..) Dynamics of systems with 1 or N degrees of freedom.
4. Fundamentals of functional design and choice of basic mechanical components: bearings, gears, gear boxes, belts, chains, wire ropes, cams, joints, clutches, brakes.
