An introduction to the literatures written in portuguese and their relationship with history, culture and society from the origin to modernity.
Lectures and seminars in italian.Attendance is heartily recommended. Students who are unable to attend will have to study some supplementary material
The course will examine the variety of literary and artistic expressions in a perspective of cultural studies in so-called lusophone literatures from Portugal, Brazil and Africa. The course will focus on on specific topics such as the origin of the galego-portuguese literature, Descobrimentos, Fernando Pessoa’s poetic of heteronimy.
