Technologies and materials (adsorbents, catalysts) for purification of waste gases from power stations and vehicles, for production and reprocessing of nuclear fuels, and for production of electronic-grade silicon and to be used in photovoltaics are described and discussed. Analytical techniques for characterization of such materials are also described and discussed.
The objective is to provide a deep knowledge of the main industrial chemical processes applied to the production of energy and the environmental protection, of the materials applied in these processes as catalysts and adsorbents, and of analytical techniques applied for characterization of such materials.
