OVERVIEW

The course is aimed at presenting the conceptual and methodological foundations of vocational psychology declining them through the major constructs and tools used in the intervention practices . The various guidance functions (information, advice, support) will be contextualized within the services and operational contexts in which you play the skills of guidance practitioners.

AIMS AND CONTENT

The course has as main objectives:
- present the evolution of the theoretical approaches in the field of vocational guidance and planning declining them through the major constructs and tools used in the intervention practices;
introduce students to the technical and methodological processes that define the orientation practices, with special reference to the contribution that can offer the psychologist to their design,implementation and evaluation;
deepen the employability construct in reference to the young population and the dynamics of choice and career that many case studies will enable you to focus.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching method alternates lectures to individual training exercices within small group. In particular in each teaching unit of four hours will follow two hours of analysis and discussion of case studies, planning exercises done in subgroups and discussed in plenary, role -play and watching movies.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course has nine teaching units:

the evolution of the main theories in vocational psychology
the new perspectives of vocational psychology and career counseling
the main concepts / constructs in terms of orientation: interests, values, coping, self-efficacy, adaptability, resilience, skills, life design, employability and social inclusion, ...
the psycho-social transitions (training and employment), choice and career trends
map services, operating environments and professional skills
actions / guidance functions in accordance with national guidelines orientation
analysis systems, validation and certification of skills
the design and evaluation of guicance interventions in the context of school-educational contexts
the design and evaluation of guidance for action in the workplace and professional.

Particular attention will be placed on the employability construct in relation to the different transitions living youth and adults.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Oral

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Oral with a written preliminary test for attending students. The written test will consist of an analysis of a case, with 90 minutes of time, the evaluation of which will contribute to the overall assessment. The written test will be valid for the entire academic year.
