A course in Arabic Language III composed of:
Theoretical module (30 hours all in the second semestr)
+
Language teaching assistantship module (annual corse of 100 hours: 50 hours each semester)
This course aims at teaching the theoretical and the practical aspects of the morpho- syntactic system of modern standard Arabic language in order to develop reading and listening comprehension abilities.
Through lectures held by native speakers, the course provides the student with better communicative linguistic skills in comparison with the level achieved in the precedent course of study.
Special attention will be paid to the principals of translation theory from Arabic (weather standard or colloquial) into Italian and vice versa.
The course completes, deepens and intensifies the knowledge of the morpho-syntactic system of standard literary Arabic. It also offers the student the necessary competence to face text analysis, translation comprehension and oral /written production of texts of different length. Producing complex structures of different typologies is a further aim.
The aims in detail are:
To bring the student to know the different kinds of irregular verbs.
To know ho to coniugate the irregular verb in presnt and past tenses and to appy the different modifications required.
To know the alteration of the irregular verb in accusative and apocope cases.
To know the passive voice of the verb in present and past tense.
To know the imperative of irregular verbs.
To know the conditional phrase with different grades of possibility of realization of the verb.
To know how to indicate proximity and commencement of an action.
To know the different ways to create adverbial phrase.
To be able to translate sentencese from italian into arabic and viceversa with the above mentioned structures.
The livel obtained in Arabic language II
Frontal class lectures
Different kinds of verbs: Hamzated, contracted and irregular.
The passive voice in the past and present tense:vice agent and object.
The conjugation of defective or irregular verbs of all above- mentioned kinds in past and present tense.
Imperative and negative imperative of irregular verbs: (direct or indrect).
The passive voice in present and past tense.
Hypothetical or conditional clause.
Verbs of proximity,hope and commencement of action.
Adverbial caluse revealing mode and circumstance.
Subordination.
The language teaching assistantship module (100 hours) includes:
Grammar excercises
Improvement of the four skills:reading, writing, listening and speaking
Translation of texts from Arabic into Italian and vice versa
Texts of grammar and linguistics are to be decided.
