OVERVIEW

Transport Law analyzes the international, European and Italian legislation that regulates the access to transport services, the related infrastructures and the main contracts in the transport sector with reference to their implications in the economic activities.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims at giving the students a profound introduction into several aspects of transport law (infrastructures, access to transport services, transport contracts), improving their ability to understand the general system of the international and European Union transport law and its implications on national legislation.

TEACHING METHODS

The course consists in 72 hours of frontal lessons.

Class attendance is recommended.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

  • Sources of transport law
  • Transport infrastructure (ports, airports and linear infrastructure)
  • Transport services (port operations and technical-nautical services; ground handling services, rail services)
  • Liberalization process of air, rail and road transport
  • Contracts in the field of transport (charterparties, contracts of carriage of passengers and of goods, multimodal transport contract, logistics services contract, etc.)

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Oral examination.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

As a rule, the exam is oral. Attending students may be given the opportunity to undertake the exam in written form.

The oral exam consists in at least three questions on the topics covered by the program of the course. The written exam consists in open-ended questions on the topics discussed during classes and for this reason is particularly suitable for attending students.
