Course description
The course, paving on a managerial approach, aims to analyse the operations and strategies of firms operating in major transport modes. The course focuses on main theoretical concepts and perspectives related to transport demand and segmentation, transport capacity deployment and management, marketing, as well as competitive and growth strategies. Emphasis will be given to multinational corporations operating in the transport sectors, diversifying risk and their business portfolio. The course will analyse in-depth the background, the actors and the strategies in maritime, air and rail transportation.

Written and oral exam. The assessment aims to verify both theoretical notions regarding the strategy of transport firms and the practical knowledge of managerial tools applied in transport industries.
