Course description

The course  introduces the students to the knowledge of the most important maritime contracts represented by international forms which are at present available in the maritime market and are actually adopted in the shipping world.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The Course brings to the knowledge of the most important contractual texts used in the shipping field in order to consider and evaluate the present specific trends of the maritime world.

The Course brings also to the discussion of the main forms used in the maritime world for the purpose of anysing their details in a critical way.

TEACHING METHODS

Traditional lessons, direct study and comments of maritime contracts and discussions with maritime brokers.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

"The course - after a preliminary study of the negotiations rules, othe the brokers activities and of the trend of the international markets concerning the ship sales and the carriages of dry and liquid cargoes - analyzes the following contracts.

- Shipbuilding Contracts

- Ship Sales Contracts

- Shipmanagement Contracts

- Bareboat charters and vessels' leasing

- Time charters

- Voyage charters

- Contracts of Affreightments

- Carriage of Goods by Sea Contracts

- Towage Contracts

- Salvage at Sea Contracts
