Course description
Analysis of some problems related to maritime logistics and ports (scheduling and vehicle routing problems, human resource planning, multimodal network design and flow optimization on multimodal networks, berth allocation, stowage problems for containerships, dangerous goods). Analysis of technical and operational characteristics of ships. Methods: Integer and binary linear programming, graph theory, heuristics. Some software will be used for solving the analysed problems (i.e. LINDO, MPL, Excel).
Frontal lectures, case studies
