In particular, the focus of the course are the corporate strategy and the corporate governance. The concept of value creation; The concept of corporate strategy; The role of resources and competencies; The fundamentals of strategy implementation: mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic alliances; The strategic process. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is to provide the students with detailed knowledge about strategic management and corporate governance. Specific topics will be: Value creation Business strategies and corporate strategies Strategy implementation Methods for the evaluation of the strategy Corporate governance issues (relationships between ownership and management) Characteristics of the national systems of governance TEACHING METHODS Lectures, case studies and seminars.
