OVERVIEW

The course aims to illustrate the potential of the solar resource and the physical mechanisms underlying theconversion of solar radiation into electricity. The elements of semiconductor physics necessary to describe the operation of the solar cells with particular reference to those in Silicon will be presented. The course will also provide an overview of new concepts and materials designed to increase the efficiency of solar cells.
