After the analysis of the issues concerning the efficiency’s improvement of the manufacturing systems, the module on Computer Aided Production discusses the techniques to assess the performances of the production processes and plan the products manufacturing. Specifically the module provides the fundamentals to analyse the manufacturing processes, to plan the manufacturing process by using CAD-CAM, and to assess the cost in function of the technologies and process organization.
The course is held in the second semester.
Review of the evolution of manufacturing systems and their organization.
Once described the basic concepts, the aim of the course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on the main quality control methods of the industrial manufacturing processes. The evaluation instrument comprising both components obtained by traditional mechanical machining, or by the most commonly used assembly techniques in the industrial manufacturing. The control methods will be also compared in terms of costs within the entire production cycle.
Inspections cycles: definitions, choice of the proper technique and phase sequence planning.
The standardization of the manufacturing process inspection; functions, architecture and integration in the production process.
