The course intends to provide a knowledge about the 20th century history, explaining the use of the documentary sources and the complexity of historiography.
The course aims an introduction to the history of the XIX and XX centuries with the goal of providing students, in a global and comparative perspective, a picture of the great economic, political, social, cultural and customs that have followed the Industrial Revolution on the Twin Towers highlighting representative processes in some areas of Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
The course provides an introduction to the political, economic and social history of the Western world with particular reference to the history of Europe and United States. The aim of the program is to give a survey of 20th century history.
36 hours of lectures, equal to 6 CFU.
Title: The Twentieth Century: a international contemporary history of the Western world. The course aims to provide students with methods and tools for a critical understanding of the history of contemporary age also bringing them closer to the most current and relevant historiographical issues.

Foreign students can also study the general aspects of foreign language textbook (English, French, etc.), by prior agreement with the teacher. A reading in Italian among the chosen texts mentioned above is still required.

CONTEMPORARY HISTORY B
The course requires oral tests at the end of the program at any of planned appeals. The students can take a written test in progress (about half of the teaching plan) on the part of the course hitherto carried out.
The exam consists on an oral presentation of variable length depending on individual skills.
According to the number of students and classrooms availability a written test in progress (about half teaching plan) can be planned.
