Portuguese Novel in the 20th Century
Lectures and seminars in italian and portuguese. Attendance is heartily recommended. Students who are unable to attend will have to study some supplementary material
The course explores the portuguese society and culture in the 20th Century. The lectures examine narratives and also arts (cinema, popular music and photography). Attention will be paid especially to the relationship between literature, politics and portuguese history (the long dictatorship, colonialism, the democratic revolution in 1975) and to a mapping of the postmodernity
