The aim of the teaching is to offer students general knowledge in the field of human geography, with reference to the different orientations of contemporary geography. In addition, it is intended to transmit a basic critical reading capacity and use of geographic and topographic maps. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is to offer students a general knowledge in the field of human geography, with reference to the different orientations of contemporary geography. Furthermore, students will acquire a basic critical reading skill and the use of geographic and topographic maps. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The main objectives are: - to convey the comprehension of geography as a discipline which studies the relationship between man and environment and its evolution; - to provide knowledge of the main themes and problems for understanding and analyzing the socio-political and territorial dynamics; - to acquire basic skills in order to understand the structure of socio-spatial systems (relationship among society, politics and space, the latter being understood as social product). TEACHING METHODS Slide lecture and graph analysis, charts, diagrams, thematic charts, video lessons. Tutorials, reviews and self-evaluation tests for the cartography part. Projection and discussion of textual and video documents and in-depth discussion of some topics in them. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Teaching is divided into four modules of 3 CFU each (18 hours). The students of the different Study Courses that must complete 6 CFUs will follow Modules n.1 and n. 2, Students who have to complete 9 CFU will follow modules no. 1, n. 2 and n. 3 Students who have to complete 12 CFUs will follow modules no. 1, n. 2, n. 3, n. 4. The interview also takes place on the basis of images, charts, tables, thematic maps and video lessons learned and on the supplementary materials made available on the Aulaweb portal or on textbooks.
