The course focuses on a classic topic of inguistic and philosophical investigation: metaphors. What is a metaphor? How do we understand metaphors? What kinds of language impairments do compromise understanding metaphors? What do the psychol and neurolinguistic experimental evidences suggest about the cognitive processes involved in understanding metaphors?
