OVERVIEW

The course aims to deepen and investigate family relations through theoretical models, research and intervention tools related to the couple, family and  the parental relationship. In terms of methodologies and tools, measuring scales and graphical methods for the study and the intervention will be explored in the context of family relationships.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to promote the psychologist education in order to manage the main constructs that address the study, research and intervention in the psychosocial approach to family relationships.

 

TEACHING METHODS

The course will alternate lectures with working groups. Group activities can be also arranged to promote active learning methodologies of family relationship psychology.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course is divided into two parts: the first deals with the theoretical background, methods and tools for the study and research in the field of family relations; the second part examines the family resileince process as a theoretical and intervention challenge related to the weakening of family relationships.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The knowledge acquired during the course will be assessed through a written test. Through this procedure, theoretical and methodological knowledge acquired by the student will be assessed. Lectures attending students will be assessed  during the course.

Students must apply for the exam through the website before taking the test.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Through direct questions in order to investigate the knowledge of the techniques and methodologies of community psychology, and / or through the presentation and critical analysis of reference cases will be assessed learning outcomes.

Students will have to gain adequate knowledge and an effective understanding of the psychology of family relationships in order to perform interventions in this area.

Students will have to use, both conceptually and operative mode, the knowledge gained from self-evaluation skills and expertise in different application contexts.

Students will have to acquire the typical discipline technical language to be able to communicate clearly and unambiguously with specialists and non-specialist interlocutors.

Students will have to develop appropriate learning skills to allow them to independently investigate major issues, techniques and methods of discipline especially in the workplace in which they will operate.
