The course requires an interest in ethical and metaethical themes. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Exploring the main themes and currents of contemporary philosophical reflection on action (praxis) which originated within the classical tradition. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Students will get acquaintened with the the main streams of contemporary ethics and particularly of contemporary foundation of ethics. The student has to learn terms, concepts and authors of ethics, becoming able to face the main streams of contemporary ethical debate and to acquire automomy of judgement in these fields. TEACHING METHODS Oral lessons. Moreover the candidate's written essay may be analyzed and discussed during the exam. Knowledge of etical concepts, of main authors of ethics, capability of comparing different ethical approaches, autonomy of judgement and capabilities of communicating topics in a clear way will be evaluated during the exam.
