A complex 12 credits course, which includes 4 classes: Russian-theory; LSP translation; Translation editing; Interpreting.
The course aims to develop knowledge of Russian at both declarative and procedural level, particularly improving students' abilities in bilingualism, bilingual switching, LSP translation, consecutive & liaison interpreting. Students will be also provided by self-training techniques.
All lessons are in Russian.
The topic is the stylistic analysys (i.e. the linguistic options that generate a precise text's/author's style ) of the textual typology of highest complexity - poems. The class will analyse the first book by Boris Ryzij (Борис Рыжий, Ryzhy) "...and so forth..." in its Italian/Russian edition (Rovigo, 2018). Thanks to the acquired abilities (included the contrastive analysys of asymmetric metrical systems of Russian and Italian traditions and the questions bond with the recipient's response and mental association), each student will chose three poems by Ryzij (not included in the printed corpus) and analyse them, giving evidence of his/her ability to detect the linguistic and linguo-cultural features able to trigger the aesthetic response.
Boris Ryzij, ... e così via..., Rovigo, Il Ponte del Sale, 2018
Almost all poems by Boris Ryzij can be easily found in the web. Students can chose their own corpus together with the printed book.
Ricevimento: Prof. Salmon's office hours are organized twice per week, except February, June and July (when the schedule changes depending on the exams and sometimes they take place only once per week), and are suspended during all August.
