SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Close examination of the preventive side of AFA’s purposes, its beneficial effect in headache,  stroke, epilepsy, and in cases of injury of peripheral nerves and in various degenerative diseases (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis), and on the other hand, it was noted how it is possible to highlight the onset of neurological disorders as a result of a sporting practice, in particular after  traumas. Particular consideration was devoted to the approach to this activity, characterized by adaptation, continuity and amount of work, and reiterating its usage in the extra health field while supervised by health professionals and also focusing the intervention on the social relationship. Object of discussion was AFA operational stage, in relation to some diseases in an almost chronic phase, noting factors such as the type and stage of disease, the user's requirements and possible contraindications. Two types of physical activity programs were differentiated, low and high disability, as well as the possible exclusion procedures from AFA programs. It was also decided to get into the specifics of the various neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders and then relate to them with adapted indicated and targeted physical activity, with proposals for activities developed in practice. It was also taken into consideration the fact that some activities that don’t seem to have any contraindication in our context of investigation, such as walking, Feldenkrais method and Tai Chi Chuan, are effective in the prevention of potential common outcomes, such as loss of balance and, consequently, a fall with often traumatic results. Attention was given to  the context of physical activities with characteristics  of 'no effort' and with resolutions having the common denominator of ‘motion economy’.
