AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The primary objective of the present teaching course is to investigate specific aspects concerning psychiatric conditions in the different ages as well as to explore their most relevant implications on the motor processes and the secondary related disabilities. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Basic knowledge of clinical and psychopathological elements of the major psychiatric conditions. General clinical, semiological, and diagnostic concepts related to psychopathology. Development of the ability to connect and successfully interact with clients. The role and tasks of the expert in motor sciences to identify the presentations and progression of the most relevant existent psychopathological conditions. At the end of the training course, students will be able to recognize most of the clinical, semiological, and diagnostic pathways as well as to critically identify the most relevant psychiatric conditions analyzing their psychopathological components and identifying their nosological criteria, according to the specific learned abilities. Students will be also able to achieve the ability to present with language competence the acquired scientific knowledge and develop an independent, critical, and thoughtful investigation ability. TEACHING METHODS Oral teaching with interactive discussion of clinical cases SYLLABUS/CONTENT Psychopathology of the most relevant mental functions: sensory perceptual disturbances; quantitative and qualitative consciousness disorders; alterations of the self consciousness; thoughts disturbances; mood disorders; psychomotor behavior disorders; memory, attention, and intellect disturbances. Psychopathological determinants underlying anxiety, unipolar and bipolar major affective, suicidal behavior, acute and chronic psychotic delusional, eating, and personality disorders.
