The traineeship course of the first year of the course includes 375 activities of the student in laboratories of hospitals or ASL affiliated with the University in basic sectors of Laboratory Medicine in order to acquire the first skills and have a first approach with the purely practical activity envisaged by the profile of the Biomedical Laboratory Technician. The traineeship path is divided into specific sectors in periods of one to two weeks.
Acquire practical skills related to a basic laboratory: • management of biological samples • treatments • conservation • computer acceptance • management of automatic and manual sorting systems • use of LIS systems • use and management of analyzers for hemato-coagulation, microscopy • management of blood components.

Verification of the ability to perform laboratory tests with description of the procedures for carrying out and the purposes of the test for clinical-diagnostic tests.
The exam takes place at the end of the completion of the annual internship. The student must demonstrate that he has achieved the intended objectives.
