students will add up and integrate their previous knowledge on geology and palaeontology and are expected to discuss biostratigraphic and palaeoecological interpretations.
Students are expected to develop a solid taxonomy and to be able to correlate microfossils associaitons trough time and space at local to basin scale.
most of the practicals will be handed on the microscopes, so the students are expected to get familiar with thin sections and sieved loose material. students are expected to examine the samples and to present their results with substantial discussions in written form with proper use of relevant terminology.
students are expected to identify most common group of microfossils on a lower taxonomic scale with high precision in both biostratigraphic and palaeoenvironmental settings.
students are expected to discuss and comment several applications possibilities related to the given samples in relation to georesources and high resolution biostratigraphy.
students are expected to gain technical skills in the description of organisms and to prepare reports in written forms with a focused discussion of the obtained results.
