Lectures will focus on the determinants of the demand of maritime transport, the role of shipping in the international trade, the supply of shipping capacity.
The course provides the specificities of the sector and the contribution provided to the general economic theory, the knowledge of the distinctive characteristics of the different modes of maritime transport and the forms of integration and competition, the markets in which the companies operate and the economic policy guidelines that drive International trade and sea transport.
Students will be able to understand how the shipping market evolves, its main drivers and which changes are expected in the near future.
