CODE 52452 ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/2020 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 1 SCIENZA DEI MATERIALI 8765 (L-30) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR FIS/01 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: GENERAL PHYSICS TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to provide students with tools for addressing the phenomena of classical mechanics and thermodynamic and for resolving exercises and problems, with particular attention to topics of practical and applicative interest. In particular, the aim is to train students in the scientific method at the base of classical physics, and appropriately characterize the observables and the quantities in play and the laws governing their evolution. Students will be able to solve problems of mechanics and thermodynamics of growing complexity, using the mathematical tools they learn during the year. TEACHING METHODS Frontal lessons. Exercises. The material used during the lessons is provided to students via Aulaweb and also in paper form, one copy per student. Several exercises are also provided, as well as examples of written exams of previous years SYLLABUS/CONTENT Introduction: physical quantities, units of measurements, uncertainties. Mechanics: cinematic laws of the motion of a material point; dynamics and forces. Complex systems. Laws of gravitation. The written exams proposed a set of problems and exercises of varying difficulty covering the topics dealt with during the year. Oral exams typically last 20 to 40 minutes with questions aimed at verifying the understanding of the laws of mechanics and thermodynamics. This structure allows the examining commission to evaluate the level of knowledge reached by students. The final note is the average of the written and oral exams. ASSESSMENT METHODS To help students evaluate their preparation during the semesters, simulations of exams without notes assigned are organized, with proposed exercises similar to those of the real exams. At the end of each semester, facultative written half-exams are held Exam schedule Data appello Orario Luogo Degree type Note 21/01/2020 09:30 GENOVA Scritto 23/01/2020 09:30 GENOVA Orale 11/02/2020 09:30 GENOVA Scritto 13/02/2020 09:30 GENOVA Orale 23/06/2020 09:30 GENOVA Scritto 26/06/2020 09:30 GENOVA Orale 13/07/2020 14:00 GENOVA Scritto 17/07/2020 09:30 GENOVA Orale 14/09/2020 09:30 GENOVA Scritto 18/09/2020 09:30 GENOVA Orale
