The course (6 ECTS) is taught in Semester 1 by Dr. Elena Errico.
The aim of the course is to provide the theoretical and methodological foundations of discourse analysis in Spanish. The basic assumption will be that textual meaning is built at several intertwined levels - grammar, pragmatics, etc. - in constant interaction with the extra-linguistic context. The course will be taught in Spanish.
The course aims at providing an advanced understanding of the features of the oral political discourse in the media in Spain and in Spanish America, from a pragmatics and critical discourse analysis perspective.
