OVERVIEW

Nowadays the cruise and tourism industry has an important role in the economy. Therefore, it is essential for tourists to knowledge their rights and for operators to knowledge their liabilities.
The Course focuses on the regulation of the main contracts in the tourist sector.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The Course analysis the Italian regulation of the contract of passengers by sea in comparison with other modes of transport, focusing on passenger rights.
The Course also deals with the main contracts in the tourism sector with particular attention to the cruise contract and the tour contract.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the Course, students should have to acquire in-depth knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles of the Law of the sea carriage of passengers, cruises and tourism and should be able to elaborate their skills. In particular, they should have to understand legal problems and come to concrete conclusions. In addition, students should be able to communicate in a clear way their knowledge and results. Finally, they should have to develop adequate learning skills in order to implement the study the subject by themselves.

TEACHING METHODS

The Course is based on traditional lessons.

Interactive student participation is encouraged.

The oral exam consists of oral questions on the topics covered by the program of the Course (See Aulaweb)

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam aims to verify students’ learning skills, in-depth knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles of the Law of the sea carriage of passengers, cruises and tourism, understanding of legal problems, abilities to come to concrete solutions and communication skills.
