OVERVIEW

Cognitive Rehabilitation bases its theoretical assumptions on the plasticity of the brain; from Behavioral Analysis, specific rehabilitation interventions can be programmed for functions that are compromised.
Most of the interventions are based on functional and learning reorganization hypotheses

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Cognitive impairment has implications for autonomy in daily life activities and on learning new strategies for motor performance recovery. The objective of cognitive rehabilitation is to improve the functional adaptation of the patient and his subjective well-being
Prerequisite is the patient's ability to learn and generalize new strategies to solve daily problems.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

“Neuropsychological rehabilitation is the study of the re-organizing opportunities of the damaged brain; it starts from the assumption that the neuroplastic capabilities of our brain are present.
After injury, can be guided to optimize rehabilitative treatment aimed at achieving the highest degree of autonomy and independence through recovery and / or compensating for cognitive and behavioral impairments; this provision is aimed at improving the quality of life of the patient and his reintegration
in his family and social environment.”Mazzucchi 1999
