OVERVIEW

The course aims to provide the main theoretical references and foundations of human geography and to illustrate some case studies for a reading of the territory in space / time.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to present the main conceptual categories related to space (territory, territorialization, place, region, etc.) as well as to the relationship between man and the environment (natural and cultural) over time.

 

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Attendance and active participation in the proposed training activities and individual study will enable the student to acquire adequate knowledge regarding the main tools of human geography. These skills will allow the student to develop critical skills in this regard of the main conceptual categories of geography.

TEACHING METHODS

The lectures will be in Italian.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Common part for courses of 6 and 9 CFU - 

The main models of representation of geographic phenomena will be presented, as well as a basis for the representations of space, from the origins to the contemporary.

- The main concepts related to human geography, the relationship between human geography and cultural geography, population movements, the characteristics of the world population, the territorial economic structures (sectors of economic activity), urban systems and structures will be analyzed in depth.


For the special part relating to the 9 CFU program:

The representations and the enhancement of the territories starting from the literary geography and the geography of literature.
