In today's societies, understanding the psychological processes underlying the interactions between individuals and groups - within real and virtual contexts - is highly relevant. For this main reason, this teaching aims at providing students with the basis of Social Psychology and the social issues analyzed by this branch of psychology. These issues will be disclosed both within face to face social interactions and virtual contexts.
Through this teaching students will improve their analysis skills on today's social phenomena analyzed by Social Psychology and relevant both both for real and virtual contexts, such as impression formation, social influence and conformism, relation between mass-media and aggressiveness.
Through an in-depth analysis about the basis of social psychology, students will improve their analysis skills on today's social phenomena, such as impression formation, social conformism, persuasive communication, aggressiveness in interpersonal and intergroup relations. Most of these issues will be analysed both within face to face and virtual contexts. Comprehending such phenomena is highly relevant - also and especially for their prevention - as it leads to an enhanced awareness about the several aspects featuring the interaction and communication between individuals that interact in a wide range of social contexts characterizing the today's social world.
Lectures in which the main theoretical assumptions are presented and exemplified through lab experiments and real-life examples that will refer both to real and virtual contexts. A critical and active participation of the students will be encouraged.
Although the lectures will be delivered in Italian, the lecturer can provide a comprehensive collection of teaching materials in English to prepare for the final exam, and this exam can be taken in English.
The teaching will be organized in a main part that will deal with the topics that are reported below. Each topic will be first analyzed within real contexts and, then, within virtual contexts.

MODULE 2: VIRTUAL GROUPS
Written exam in Italian language for the mothertongue. Upon request, lecture will organize oral exams in English language for foreign students.
The exam will allow lecture to assess the following students' outcomes:
Critical and independent thinking: Students will be able to use the understood knowledge both from a theoeretical and applied level, with an independent and flexible ability.
Coomunication skills: Students will have to demonstrate an appropriate use of terms appropriate for Social Psychology and to communicate in a clear and unambiguous way with experts and non experts of this field.
Learning ability: Students will have to develop approriate learning abilities that will allow them to gain further knowledge aboout the main topics of Social Psychology in an independent way, especially within the working settings where they will work in.
