AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is providing students with the basic notions of Anthropology, in particular of Urban Anthropology, in order to analyse the concepts of “network”, “intercultural communication” and “city as network of cultural meanings”. A special attention will be paid to the ways the new digital technologies are acquired and used. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES First of all, the main currents of Cultural Anthropology – from Evolutionism to Funcionalism, from Structuralism to Post – Modernism, will be presented, toghether with the most common intellectual “positions” taken by anthropologists, from Universalism to Relativism. All this, will be followed by the analysis of the concept od Digital Anthropology, highlighting how to use the previously illustrated theories and metodologies. In the end, the course will focus on how Anthropology can provide intepretative tools to approach the observation of the city, the concept of “network” and a complete analysis of globalisation and post-modernism.
