SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The first part of the course aims to present the cultural and literary specificities of French-speaking overseas literature (America, Africa, Asia, Oceania). The preparation of the Salon de la Littérature francophone will allow students to develop their knowledge through text manipulation. Following a general presentation by the teacher of the specificities of the Francophonie and of the French-speaking overseas literature, the course will be developed in the form of a flipped classroom and the students will become the agents of their training by actively participating in all phases of construction of the Salon:

- choice of the geographical-cultural area of reference

- choice of the author and the work to be presented at the salon

- preparation of illustrative materials (brochures) for the presentation

- preparation of an oral presentation to be used by high school students during the salon

The second part of the course, provided by Prof. Merello, will be a focus on the literary history, its natural process of evolution and the difficulty of adapting critical tools. The texts in the bibliography will be used in lectures and as a basis for analysis and discussion.
