OVERVIEW

The course provides an overview of Plant Biology, including current methods for plant culture and multiplication applied to the Floricultural field. Plant Biology is concerned with plant structure and life processes, including tissue organization, anatomy, growth, development, and reproduction. Floriculture is concerned with methods for propagation and hybridization of selected varieties of ornamental plants.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course provides the fundamental concepts of plant biology through the study of morphology, anatomy physiology and molecular biology. In addition the course describe the wide genetic variation of the plant kingdom. Finally the course highlight  how provided  knowledge may be employed in domestication and selection process of ornamental species and their products.
