General introduction will be complemented by in-depth study of major figures in contemporary philosophy (through the analysis of one or more of their main works). AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Getting acquainted with the main features and currents of contemporary philosophy. After an historical introduction, students will focus on specific philosophers, through the analysis of some of their works. Reading one or more classics of contemporary philosophy. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Students will know the main features and currents of contemporary philosophy; they will develop their criticism and their original, independent point of view. PREREQUISITES Knowledge of the fundamental cultural categories that have substantiated the Western civilization and the Western thought is required. TEACHING METHODS The Course didactic is provided through frontal lectures, also with the help of audiovisual media.
